Your Guide to Decorating Your RV’s Interior

While your RV likely comes with a whole host of excellent features that make your camping trips more enjoyable and fun, you may find that walking into it leaves you feeling a little uninspired. The color palettes and materials used to create your RV’s interior tend towards the neutral, and they’re made to be sturdy more than they are fashionable. Fortunately, it’s not hard to personalize your camper; it won’t take much time and it also won’t cost much!

Add Some Color

As we noted, the browns, grays, and beiges that your camper sports aren’t the most thrilling or welcoming shades out there. With some paint, you can easily change that. Add a bright accent wall or paint every wall pastel. When you add other decorations, make sure that they coordinate well with the colors you’ve chosen!

Use Fabric to Your Advantage

The nice thing about decorating with fabric is that it’s very lightweight, which is ideal for a camper. Heavy glass, wood, and metal decorations will just weigh your camper down and limit how much cargo you can bring, so stick with paper, plastic, and fabric for the best results.

Another benefit to using fabric is that it immediately softens up a space and makes it feel warm and cozy. Imagine your grandmother’s crocheted afghan or your mom’s handmade quilt thrown on the back of your RV couch or spread on the bed. Toss some cute throw pillows in contrasting colors on the furniture. Hang up bright sheer curtains to let in light while adding a pop of color. Use macramé wall hangings or plant hangers to further decorate your space.

Put Up Photos

Pictures of your folks back home, your kids’ friends, your relatives, and all the places you’ve been are great additions to your camper’s interior. Try making a photo hanger out of a length of hemp or twine cord; take small clothespins from the craft store and slide them onto the cord through the coils, knotting around either side and spacing them out a few inches apart. Tack this up on the wall and clip up any photos you want; you can swap them out easily at any time!
