Camping in the spring can present RVers with a number of unique challenges. Unlike the summer season, where the weather is always hot, springtime temperatures can fluctuate a lot. While this leads to cooler days spent hiking forest trails, it also means you’ll need to be prepared for a variety of inclement weather. To learn how to prep for a spring camping trip in your RV, check out our helpful guide below.

Refill Your First-Aid Kit

It’s always a good idea to bring a first-aid kit on your RV in order to care for any small wounds or injuries your passengers may develop. If you’re making plans to camp in the spring, be sure to double-check that your first-aid kit has plenty of allergy medication and tissues for all of your passengers to help everyone defend against all of the pollen in the air. You’ll also want to pack extra bug spray or repellent, as the rainy weather can increase the number of mosquitoes in the area.

Prepare for Inclement Weather

While spring is typically a rather temperate season, it can have bouts of extreme weather. To ensure you’re not caught off guard, be sure to bring waterproof gear—such as rain boots, a jacket, and a hat—as well as a few sets of warm clothes. Before you leave, we also recommend inspecting the exterior of your RV for any cracks or holes that need to be patched up and applying weather stripping to your doors and windows.
